Way past week 7 - Saffron, Banana jam, olive oil, Christmas sugars.

It's many more than seven weeks and I've had a few culinary adventures/using stuff:

- Saffron in saffron rice
- Banana jam on toast (this due to a rhapsody on banana jam that Shannon wrote me from the road)
- High-end olive oil in marinara sauce

However, the best of all was the Christmas cupcake decoration that I did with my niece and nephew. My niece, when told we were going to decorate Christmas cupcakes (in July) said, "ooh!", followed by a quizzical look and "why?" She's very practical. I debated putting on a little bit of Christmas music and wearing a Santa hat, but thought that might be a little over-the-top, and fuel for the "weird Aunt Megan" moniker they are likely to give me when they are teenagers. Instead, we just made chocolate cupcakes with buttercream icing and made a big mess decorating them. I can see why we only do this once a year!
